Since we are building an event based, behavior analysis location tracking and fall detection product. The usages are many from senior care to cognitive impaired person care to tracking kids in schools or their activities to work force management, and in delivery.
To achieve our goal, we have many stages of the product line.
1. Event based location tracking notification for Smart phones
2. Event based fall detection notification for Smart phones
3. Develop a wearable for event based notification – This wearable is for both indoor/outdoor – Location tracking
– Fall detection
– Route guidance
4. Develop behavior analysis software where the system learns itself instead of a user inserting schedule
Our product will have two distinct parts
1) Location tracking – where the system actively monitors a person, analyzes their behavior and notifies if there is any deviation. Since the system is monitoring, there is no need for a user’s next of kin/caretaker/admin etc. to do the job. The system will guide a user to the destination if it senses that the user is about to get lost or if the user doesn’t respond then reaches out for help.
• According to FBI and Silver Alert, there are about 90,000 people missing at any given time and about a third of them are senior citizens.
• According to Alzheimers association, there are 9M US citizens suffering from Dementia/Alzheimers.
• On average, one patient goes missing about 3 times per year.
• The average search costs about $1500 per person and lasts about 12 hours and the outcome is rarely good.
2) Fall Detection – The system analyzes when a user is more susceptible to fall and provides a notification when that activity is about to take place so a help can be provided. This reduces the risk of fall.
Overall value proposition: For continuing care residences – ability to provide hands on care when it is needed, increasing resident satisfaction and quality of life without increasing costs. These facilities are looking for ways to monitor the residents, provide help as quickly as needed without the need for hiring more workers.
For Hospitals/rehabs – lower readmissions thus saving money in readmission penalties
For families – peace of mind knowing where their loved ones are, without being obtrusive in nature
For Cities – lower rollout of EMT services thus saving money
For Center for Managed Services (CMS – Medicare/Medicaid) – lower costs & increased savings due to less hospitalization
For Smart Home manufacturer – a value added product and service creating differentiation
In our first stage we are developing a multiplatform system compatible with all mobile operating systems to be used with a smart phone or any existing GPS capable product. An admin/caregiver/next of kin/guardian will download the app, set up a schedule and the system will keep track of the user whether s/he is at the location at a scheduled time and if it determines an abnormality, will provide appropriate notification.
